MEGHAN MCGUINNESS MYERS
President
Meghan moved to East Greenwich in 2018 from New York City. She has spent her career fundraising for non-profits and serves on the EGEF Development Committee. Meghan is a mother of two children (one at Frenchtown Elementary and one at Eldredge Elementary).
MARY ANNE O'CONNELL
Vice President
Mary and her husband, Tom moved to East Greenwich in 2021 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Recently retired as an Elementary Principal/Director of Special Education, Mary Anne wants to find ways to continue to support education and student learning in her new community of East Greenwich.
ALAN MALAFRONTE
Treasurer
Alan was born and raised in Rhode Island. He and his wife, Jenn, settled in East Greenwich in 2017 and have 2 children attending Cole Middle School and a son at East Greenwich High School. Alan has supported the educational experiences of students in East Greenwich by volunteering as a room parent in several of his children's classrooms and serving as Treasurer of the PTG at Frenchtown and Eldredge Elementary Schools over the past 4 years. He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross with a MBA in Finance from the University of Rhode Island.
GENEVIEVE LEE
Secretary
Genevieve joined EGEF in 2021. She was born in West Virginia and raised in New York. She spent time in Massachusetts and Ireland before moving to Rhode Island in 2010. She settled in East Greenwich to raise her family in 2016. She and her husband, Anthony, have 2 children at Meadowbrook.
JENNIFER BIALEK
Jennifer has over 15 years of experience working in business development for both non-profit associations and large corporations. She has primarily focused on sponsorship and advertising sales for programs and events taking place around the world. In addition, from 2015 - 2020 she was the lead planner for a 1,000 person conference where she gained invaluable experience around all aspects of events. A graduate of University of Rhode Island, Jennifer and her family relocated back to Rhode Island from the DC area in 2016 and now lives in East Greenwich with her husband, three children entering grades 3, 5 and 8 and their Cavapoo, Tucker.
KAREN BUTTENBAUM
Karen grew up in Rhode Island and recently returned after spending 12 years in the Boston area. Karen has one son who currently attends Cole Middle School and has been an active volunteer at both Eldredge and Frenchtown. After a career in law school admissions at Harvard Law School and Roger Williams University School of Law, Karen now works with individuals applying to law school as an admissions consultant with Spivey Consulting.
LINDSAY CARLOZZI
JEAN-NICOLE GOUDIE
Jean-Nicole Goudie is a native Rhode Islander who graduated from Providence College and received her Masters Degree from the University of Maryland. As a speech-language pathologist, she worked and lived in Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Philadelphia before moving back to Rhode Island.
Jean-Nicole has a 7th grader at Cole Middle School as well as a 5th grader and 3rd grader both at Hanaford Elementary. She is active in PTG events and also serves on the East Greenwich Flag Football League board.
Jean-Nicole enjoys her work with EGEF serving on the events committee. She hopes to continue to make each event, big or small, valuable and meaningful for the foundation’s cause.
JESSE HASHAGEN
MARIA MARILYN PORRECA
Maria was born and raised in Rhode Island. She returned with her family in 2019 after spending ~20 years in Manhattan (NYC). Maria has two children that currently attend Meadowbrook Farm School. She is a graduate of Syracuse University and Harvard Business School. Maria is a Finance Executive in the insurance industry.
DAPHNEE RENTFROW
Daphnee comes to EGEF with years of experience in higher education, non-profits, and community engagement. She holds several advanced degrees, including a PhD from Brown University. Her career has included teaching, authoring research articles, and successful grant writing that has secured funds from organizations including the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities and the NEH. Daphnee works with Write Rhode Island promoting the literary arts in grades 7-12, and has previously served on the board of EG’s Cultural Organization of the Arts. Daphnee and her husband have three children who currently—or will soon—attend EGHS.
IRIS RIBEIRO
After graduating from the University of Hawaii, Iris relocated to Rhode Island. Although not originally from the area, she quickly fell in love with the state and the people. She recently settled into East Greenwich with her family, and has worked in the community for years as a Coach at OrangeTheory Fitness.
Iris’ twin daughters currently attend Cole Middle School, where she also assists as one of the advisors for the Cole Drama Club. She has experience in theater and acting, and enjoys sharing her knowledge and creativity with the students. Iris joined EGEF in 2022 as the emcee of the evening. She looks forward to continuing in that role and helping to create the best vibe and experience to all future EGEF events.
